Considering buying a home? WDIR's (Wood Destroying Insect Reports) are essential inspections to be done when you are considering buying a home. This inspection is one of the cheapest inspections conducted as part of a home buying experience, yet your home's structural integrity could hinge on it alone.

A current customer with our company at Bullseye Pest Control decided to skip the WDIR when purchasing their forever home. After a couple years, they noticed some soft spots in their bathroom floor. Assuming it was a plumbing issue in the crawlspace, they called a plumber. Through further investigation, they found out it was an active termite infestation damaging the structural integrity of their bathroom floor system. In the beginning, they could have conducted a $100 WDIR to find this issue beforehand. Once the project began, they had to gut their entire bathroom to fix the structural damage in the floor system. Once they completed the project it cost them roughly $17,000 they had not budgeted for when buying the home.
