When a buyer walks into your home, you want them to be able to visualize themselves living there.  Removing personal items (pictures of your dog, your personal vacation pictures, etc) will help free the space so they can envision their stuff in the home.

Another great tip is to declutter and help show as much of the space as possible.  Sometimes it may be helpful to put unneeded items in a family member or friend’s garage- just get it out of the way.  This might be your favorite bookcase that takes up half of a wall or the clutter in your closets you’ve been meaning to get to (personally guilty of this!).

Throwing a few extra flowers in the ground out front to help with the curb appeal is always a nice touch.  When a potential buyer sees your home online, chances are, they will drive by it to see how it looks in person.  It doesn’t take much, but a few fresh pansies by the mailbox or a beautiful mum on the porch will add that extra little pop to warm the home up a bit.

We all want the home to smell fresh!!  This proves to be more challenging when we have pets, but I have a “life hack” that actually works.  Have you tried fabric softener yet??  Yep! I said fabric softener!  Take the measuring lid and fill that little cup up; dump that into a bucket half full of warm water (I like using hot because it makes me feel like it gets things clean).  Wipe down your baseboards with this concoction for a fresh clean scent!  Wax warmers also work well for an additional pumpkin latte scent so it smells like fall.
